This course introduces you to the Common Admission Test (CAT), a computer-based management aptitude test conducted in India. It is considered one of the most popular and competitive entrance exams for admission to postgraduate management programs, such as MBA, PGDM, and other management courses in prestigious business schools in India.
Common Admission Test is conducted every year by one of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) on a rotational basis, on behalf of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). The exam is designed to assess a candidate’s analytical, verbal, and quantitative skills. The CAT score is used by various management institutes in India as a criterion for admission to their management programs.
The CAT exam consists of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). CAT Syllabus for Quantitative Aptitude is based on the topics of the Maths syllabus. Arithmetic accounts for more than 50% of the questions asked from the CAT QA Syllabus. The major topics included are profit, loss & discount, time speed & distance, mixtures, average, work, percentage, ratio & proportion, and SI/ CI. The exam duration is 180 minutes, and each section is given a time limit of 60 minutes. The exam pattern and syllabus are revised periodically to keep up with the changing needs of the business world.
