Course Description
In today’s world, environmental concerns are at the forefront of design considerations. Architects and designers play a crucial role in mitigating climate change and creating sustainable, environmentally responsive spaces. As responsible citizens all of us must also play a very important role in creating a positive impact on the planet by harmonizing with the surrounding environment. Form Follows Climate is an essential concept in contemporary architecture and design, emphasizing the integration of environmental considerations into the design process. “Form Follows Climate: Environmentally Responsive Design” is a specialized course that delves into the critical relationship between architectural form and the natural environment. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of climate-responsive design and explore into the relationship between architecture, climate, and sustainability to identify opportunities for design interventions. Participants will understand the importance of designing for environmental responsiveness and will explore the impact of climate on the built environment, learn passive design strategies, and discover innovative technologies that enable architecture to adapt to and mitigate environmental challenges. Participants will also explore how climatic conditions influence architectural form, material selection, and building performance. On completion of this course participants will learn and develop skills of Integrating sustainability and environmental considerations into architectural practice and create sustainable, energy-efficient, and comfortable spaces that harmonize with their surrounding environment and positively impact the planet.
