Adapting the V.I.C.K.I. Protocol for Mental Health, Apply the V.I.C.K.I. protocol to your own Mental Health.
Course Description
The V.I.C.K.I. protocol was devised in Oxford, UKÂ in 2024. Simplifying the protocol it may be summarised as:
V – Venture Outdoors: Engaging in outdoor activities can improve mood and reduce stress.
I – Interact Socially: Maintaining social connections can support emotional well-being.
C – Care for Self: Prioritize self-care by ensuring adequate sleep, nutrition, and relaxation.
K – Keep Learning: Stimulate your mind by learning new skills or pursuing hobbies.
I – Introspection: Practice mindfulness or meditation to understand and manage your emotions.
This is a course that shows you how to adapt the protocol to your OWNÂ Mental Health at home. In addition the recently-announced NEB Strategy – aimed in particular at the workplace – is included and supplemented with Case Studies that will show you exactly how to improve your Mental Health at home and at work.
The protocol itself is very new – there have been no peer-reviewed studies involving more than 100 people but the core components (making up the V.I.C.K.I. protocol) have been the subject of studies for decades. This is the first time though that they have been grouped together in this protocol and the course goes through -with plenty of examples – showing you exactly what to do to improve your own Mental Health.
Note: the V.I.C.K.I. Protocol – as explained here -is neither gender nor age-specific. What is stressed, though, is that it is NOT one-size-fits-all but a protocol that is flexible so it can be applied to individuals. Just as an example -not everyone likes ABBA!
