Course Description

This course is brought to you by One Future Collective. One Future Collective is a feminist social purpose organisation with a vision of a world built on social justice, led by communities of care. We fight for the right of each person to live a life of safety, dignity and belongingness by catalysing people-power and building just institutions.Through this course, we’ll navigate nuances of the Indian Constitution’s Chapter III, Fundamental Rights. This is not a mere academic exercise but an important aspect of developing into a responsible citizen. This course will empower you with the knowledge of your basic rights and the ways to get them upheld in courts, in the event of them being violated.

Some of the key course objectives are as follows:

  • Explore the meaning and importance of constitutional rights
  • Understand the centrality of Fundamental Rights within the Indian Constitution through different case laws.
  • Explore how fundamental rights have evolved over the years.
  • Examine how constitutional rights are enforced.
  • Map the legal redressal systems that can be approached in case of rights’ violation.

Through the course, the participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between constitutional rights and fundamental rights.
  • Understand that fundamental rights is the most important chapter of the Indian Constitution.
  • Illustrate the evolution of the Fundamental rights over the past decades.
  • Cherish and action the constitutional values enshrined in Chapter III of the Constitution.
