Course Description
This course is about ISOÂ 26262-2: Management of functional safety. All relevant clauses of this part of ISOÂ 26262 are explained in the course. The following clauses are considered:
- Clause 5: Overall safety management
- Clause 6:Â Project dependent safety management
- Clause 7: Safety management regarding production, operation, service, and decommissioning
The following aspects are considered in Clause 5: Overall safety management:
- Implementation of a safety culture
- Management of safety anomalies
- Competence management
- Implement quality management for the safety lifecycle
- Project independent tailoring of the Safety Lifecycle
The following aspects are considered in Clause 6:Â Project dependent safety management:
- Roles and responsibilities
- Planning and coordination of safety activities
- Project-specific tailoring of the safety lifecycle
- What is a safety manager?
- What is the safety plan?
- What is the safety case?
- Confirmation measures (includes an explanation of review, assessment, audit, and independence levels)
- Release for production
The following aspects are considered in Clause 7: Safety management regarding production, operation, service, and decommissioning
- Roles and responsibilities
- Planning of safety activities
- Field monitoring
- Management of modifications after SOP
In the first part of the course, you get a quick overview of all ISO 26262:2018 parts. Also, the term functional safety is explained in the first part of the course. And you get an overview of functional safety standards for other industries, such as nuclear plants or the process industry.
In case you already have some basic knowledge about functional safety and ISOÂ 26262 the first part of the course is optional and you can skip it.
