Player CARE Coach Educator Programme, Psychological First Aid Trainer Course for Esports Players and Gamers.

Course Description

By engaging in this short course, you will understand the essentials of psychological first aid and the specific challenges of delivering psychological first aid in online environments. There are a range of supplementary tasks to assist your learning and help you improve your understanding of common mental health disorders. The module is targeted at gaming guilds, clubs, esports societies and anyone involved in leading and organising esports teams. At the end of the course, you will be eligible for a certificate demonstrating that you have completed the psychological first aid component of our Player CARE Coach Educator training. The course is also accredited at level four with the University of Ulster and it may be possible to register with the university for a fee, should you require an internationally recognised certificate and UCAS points. This version of the course, however, is completely free.

Before undertaking the course, we ask that all students complete a short survey from our evaluation partner ‘First Person Consulting’. The survey will take under five minutes and assesses your baseline mental health literacy. The link is in your initial welcome message. We ask you to complete the same survey on completion to identify any changes in your learning. If you are yet to complete the survey, please do so now (section 1 of the course).

The course was created by Dr John P. Mills, a British Psychological Society Chartered Psychologist and founder of Play Aid CIC. Play Aid is supported by Global Men’s Health Charity Movember.
