This class explores different painting materials and the history of different kinds of painting, and painting processes. It explores Acrylic Painting, Acrylic Paint Pouring, Oil Painting, Encaustic Painting, Tempera Painting, Fresco Painting, and Mural Painting. It explores the history of Acrylic paint, how Acrylic paint is made, pigments and binders and how and why artists use acrylic paint. This class explores the technique of Acrylic Paint Pouring, and the materials artists need to create it. This class explores the history of tempera paint, how it is made with egg yolk and pigment, and why artists use tempera paint. It explores the different surfaces that artists use tempera paint on, as well as different tempera painting techniques like panel painting, and fresco painting. This class explores the history of oil paint, how it is made, diffeerent pigments, and why artists would use it as opposed to other kinds of paint. This class exlpores the history of encaustic painting, and how the paint is made by combining pigment and beeswax, as well as the special materials like heat needed to paint with encaustic. This class explores the different kinds of fresco painting, like buon fresco and fresco secco. It explores the relationship between fresco painting and the wall. It explores how fresco painters have to mix paint into wet plaster. It explores why artists would use fresco paint. This class explores the history of mural painting, and the different kinds of paint artists use to create murals. It explores how mural painting differs from paintings in an art gallery. In general, the class explores different kinds of paint and painting materials, the history of paint, and why artists use each kind of paint.
