Course Description
Welcome to the YMAU Delegate Training Program! This course is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the structure, function, and objectives of the Model African Union (MAU). Whether you are a first-time delegate or seeking to refine your knowledge, this training will equip you with the essential skills to participate effectively in YMAU conferences.
The Model African Union simulates the workings of the African Union (AU), offering students a platform to engage in critical discussions on pressing continental issues, negotiate resolutions, and develop diplomatic skills. Through this program, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the AU’s institutions, decision-making processes, and the role of various committees.
If you are new to YMAU, completion of this course is mandatory before attending the conference. The training modules will guide you through the fundamentals of parliamentary procedure, resolution writing, and the responsibilities of delegates, chairs, and rapporteurs. The modules are titled Introduction to YMAU, Understanding the African Union, Preparing for Model AU, General Conference Skills, Model AU Conference Skills, and After the Conference.
By the end of this course, you will be well-prepared to represent your assigned country with confidence, engage in constructive debates, and contribute meaningfully to discussions shaping Africa’s future.
**Please note that while you will not receive a certificate upon completing the course, I will be keeping track of all participants who finish. So, rest assured, your completion will be recorded.**
